MALATE, MANILA – Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA Regional Director Leonardo C. CESO III received the first ever DSWD Mobile Command Center (MCC) at the Regional Office, May 28, 2024. 

Equipped with cutting-edge information and communications technology (ICT) tools, the MCC aims to strengthen communication channels during emergencies and calamities within the region and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of disaster relief efforts, ensuring timely assistance reaches those in need.

The MCC’s deployment will serve as a vital link between disaster-affected areas and key operational centers and signifies a proactive approach to disaster preparedness, setting a precedent for resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity. 

With the MCC in place, the DSWD assures its readiness to address the challenges posed by natural disasters and other emergencies, safeguarding the welfare of Filipino citizens across the MIMAROPA Region. 

DSWD MIMAROPA OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Sheila Tapia, together with Disaster Risk and Management Division (DRMD), Information and Communications Technology Management Service (ICTMS), Procurement Section, and Property and Supplies Section of Administrative Division were also present during the turnover of the MCC.
