BUSUANGA, Palawan- The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MiMaRoPa thru the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) conducted Skills Training on Mudcrab Fattening and Culturing Project for about 100 beneficiaries in barangays Sto. Nino, Sagrada, Quezon and Old Busuanga.

DSWD has funded Php754,000.00 under SLP Post Yolanda Recovery and Rehabilitation Program (YRRP), to give livelihood support to Super Typhoon Yolanda affected communities.

Mudcrab pens are also constructed in mangrove areas in the municipality in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources  (BFAR).

SLP, community-based capacity-building program that seeks to improve the socio-economic status of its participants, is implemented using the Community-Driven Enterprise Development approach which enables participants to contribute to production and labor markets by looking at available resources and accessible markets. ###
